We are honored to be involved with the interior refresh of the historic Cog Railway Depot in Manitou Springs Colorado. Our design efforts were focused on updating the flooring, bathrooms, light fixtures and wood work while keeping the original look and feel.
This multi family project provides permanent supportive housing for previously homeless women and children. As a trauma informed project, this design had to be thoughtful to increased wayfinding, color palettes and shapes. We focused on a pastel color palette that represented sun, sky, earth and fire and added uplifting imagery to encourage the residents. The building enjoys stellar views of Pikes Peak so it seemed fitting to design a moss wall art piece depicting our mountain views infused with the uplifting elements of biophilia. We were proud to be apart of such an important project for our city.
